Peoplecall in Hispanoamerica


Four years ago, 2003, arounf this month, we took the decision to make a big effort in the international market, I was the person to drive it. Due to the language and cultural afinities I started by Hispanoamerica, we had some contacts finding some partners and we started, after 4 years we see that our effort has been directed to other areas, as you can deduct from my posts, and it is the time to have some thoughts for the origin of our international activity.
Today we have presence in several countries, but actual presence only in two, Bolivia and Colombia, and we would like to reinforce this presence in both countries, where we are sure we have a lot of room to grow, we will support our partners in both places. In parallel we will work to make a good evolution in other places where we have good partners, like Costa Rica, and we will be present sooner in big countries where we are not, like Brazil. We will work very hard to make this area as important as others are inside Peoplecall.
We are sure we will have the support of our partners to have the same market share as we have in other parts of the globe.

The International Enviroment

Hello Every Body,

After several post, allways speaking about our evolution, strategy,................., today I will take the opportunity to speak about the rest of the companies, the competitive enviroment and how we will adapt ourselves to the situation.

First of all, under the umbrella of Ip Telephony there are several models that we can clasify in four, first the people providing basic telephony, together with the Internet access provider, like Vonage, their main offer is based in a monthly fee, covering the calls to some destiantions. The second one, the offer to corporations and enterprises, they do a global solution, in many cases doing hosting of the application, drived by the big telcos, like AT&T, BT,Telefonica,....., the third one for domestic users, based in PC with an application to use in comunities, like Skype and the forth one, providing low cost international calls, focussed in places where the international telephony is very expensive, like Net2Phone, Deltathree, Mediaring and of course Peoplecall.

Apart of the second family, where the big telcos provide a solution in their global offer, and to get figures is almost impossible, it is in the global revenues of the company. I will speak about the rest, and I will focuss my words in the last group where we are.

The first group, Vonage is the best welknown, if we think in their model, the last quarter that they publish figures is Q1/07, where they have losses from operation 72Musd, the cumulative losses with more tahn 800Musd, from me the figures are out of my understanding, and the first thought that I have, the model is profitable around the time?, they will recover the big amount of money invested in the company?

About the third group, I can not add any thing new, taking into account the last news about Skype/eBay.


If we put our focuss in our group, and we see the last information provided by the companies, the enviroment is as follow:

- Net2Phone, after the merge with IDT we can not get figures, but he last ones where really bad.
- Mediaring, in the first half of 2007, they got losses of 2Musd and they have cumulative losses of more than 150Musd
- Deltathree, they got losses of close to 3Musd, and cumulative losses more than 70Musd

After seeing this enviroment, it is difficult to think that this market, Ip Telephony could provide profits, in other hand Peoplecall is profitable, why?:

- We are a small company, totally focussed in our market segment, providing the service totally oriented to the needs , and beeing as close as possible to the customer.
- We are based in a partner relationship, based in the loyalty in the relation
- This market segment is for other model of company not based in the stock exchange uses, changing the strategy depending of the value of the share.
- We are totally adapted to the revenues that we have, it means that we don´t fly speaking about the future we live with the reality of the moment.

We are sure that we have a long future in this market: "keeping small to be big". Spending our cash in application, infrastructure and sales activity close to the customers needs and not following other external request.

I am sure that we will get the support of our partners, customers and providers to achive this long future.

Gitex: Dubai 2007








This is the first time that Peoplecall is going to the international fair of technology that each year is being in Dubai, our goal going there is to open the company to the arabic speaking countries, mainly located in middle east. We were in the Spanish booth organized by ICEX/Secartys, the spanish international commerce entity.


Moammar, the responsible of Peoplecall for this market, was attending the stand, to be sure that we were doing a good support to our visitors, providing the actual strategy of the company and in his case speaking arabic.

I was attending the fair as well, and in the picture I am trying to convince about our product portafolio to a visitor from the Emirates, I should say that I didn´t success







During the 5 days of the fair we had visitors from many countries, of middle east, Africa and some countries of Asia, like India, Pakistan and Iran, in some of them we are doing business now and in the rest we are working to do it.


Moammar and myself have a good time there, working pretty hard, but satisfied about the results and the acceptance of the company.

Our Presence in Equatorial Guinea



Since the beginning of this year we have been working actively in this country, Equatorial Guinea, with a very good growth month by month and the most important with two friends, Cherif and Ferdinad, they are so involved in Peoplecall that the image of the company is present in every callshop, as you can see in the pictures, in Equatorial Guinea the official language is spanish and "Cabina Telefónica" is Callshop.





The image and our brand is present in every where, in the cabinets in the outside advertisments, we are working very hard, together with our partners there, in order to be a sinonimous of quality of the service, and we are sure that sooner we will be the leader by far in the callshop telephony.





As they are managing services over internet Cafés, they have added the image and colours to the program to inform the user of the computer about the time.
From Peoplecall we appreciate a lot the effort and good results to Cherif and Ferdinand, and we are sure that together we have a great future.

Spain and West Africa Meeting

Peoplecall will participate in the intercompany meeting in Dakar, this meeting is oriented to deveop the business of Spain in that area, and will participate companies of eight countries apart of Spain:

- Mauritania
- Guinea Conakry
- Senegal
- Burkina Faso
- Gambia
- Mali
- Guinea Bissau
- Cabo Verde


For Peoplecall is a good oportunity to meet possible partners in this strategic area inside development of our international business and to see the possibility to select new agents, this meeting will be celebrate 21,22 and 23rd of November in Dakar, we are sure of the profibility of this meeting.

Market Approach, Closer to the Use of the End Users

Two years ago we launched a image, to let our callshops having an identification with our quality service, in order to let the final customer identify the service linked to Peoplecall, this image was based in:



The first image was based in two languages, Spanish and English, our main markets at that time were South America and some parts of Africa, we understood that with these two languages were enough. After the evolution of our activities we understand that the english will be the common language to use but we need to adapt our image to a new areas where we are developing our activities.







As we are increasing our presence a lot in Central and West Africa, the regular languages are english and french, and we need to provide to the end users of the callshops a recognized language and image. During these days we are starting in several places apart of our market developed in Ivory Coast, we are in Congo, Burkina Faso, Ghana, Nigeria and Guinea Conacry, we are working to develop Mali, Senegal, Mauritania, ....., where the french is the main language apart we are present in Equatorial Guinea with a very good presence, where the french and spanish is mixed, and soon in Kenya.





As part of our strategic development we are working pretty hard in the area of the arabic speaking countries, where the end user of the callshops are not speaking english, and we will work to make our image recognized by the end users, we will develop our image and the presence in these countries, apart of our good presence in Libya, we are starting in Lebanon, Morocco and Egypt and sooner in Jordan, Algeria..........





All of this is thanks to a big effort made by our friends Sylla, Adi and Ibrahim in Central and West Africa as well as to Moammar in the arabic world, congratullations from all Peoplecall family.

Approach The Arabic World

As I have commented in my previous post we will put a big effort to develop our presence in this world, and we will do it in several steeps:

- Marketing/Commercial documentation in Arabic:

- We will have an Office, based in Lybia with two main objectives: to create and support our selling activity and a technical group to develop specific needs of this particular market

- We will participate in the events in order to present our company increasing our presence, we have started in Gitex during September 2007 and we will be present in every event.

We are sure that we will be successful in this market, due to several reasons, we have a good manager and a very good friend Moammar able to make it, we have and we will develop the services that this market demands, and we will provide to our partners the relationship and confidence that they are looking for.

Hello every body,

Long time without writing here, and I have a lot of things to comment since july, I have been travelling around West Africa in order to close partnership relation per country, in September we have participated in the international fair of Gitex Dubai, with the goal to promote Peoplecall in the arabic world, with good results in both cases. Apart of this we are having the visit of Enrique Corbera our partner for South America, Bolivia in order to define our strategy for that continent, after my words we can conclude our strategy for the last quarter of 2007:

The world is quite big we must select the areas to focus our activity, our main difference with our competitor will be the focus by country, selecting a partner being sure that we will be successful in the country, with a good support to the partner, a good reseller network and a top service to the callshop provided by focussing all the people related with Peoplecall.

The areas were will focus our activity during the year 2008 will be Latin America, Arabic Speaking Countries and Africa.

I will continue in the next days speaking about this straegy based in the experiences that we are having.

Great Success of the New Call

If you read my post of yesterday, our partners have opened a Callshop yesterday, and the result of the first day were more than excelent, here you can see it:









They are not doing a special promotion, like free calls, or half price, they are charging the normal rates, but the whole service offered to the users is above the rest.
